In honor of my brother Chris
Originally posted 2016-08-11 19:19:22. His birthday was August 8. When I saw this picture it felt so real because…well he’s no longer here. I feel like he has been watching over us. Lord do we miss him. August 8, 1969 – January 17, 2007
Not just a title
Originally posted 2022-10-11 10:54:58. Over the past 5 days we had our grandbabies. I was so overjoyed to get them! I can’t believe I am a grandparent, grandmother, grandma, whatever you want to call me. But I have one problem with that title. I don’t feel like I should be called a grandmother. You see my momma was a grandma, who my daughter called grams. My momma was such a wonder grandmother. You seen some…
Title? Think I forgot it too…
Originally posted 2016-08-03 20:48:44. Through my years I have gone through things, done things, put myself in situations I shouldn’t have, gone places I shouldn’t have, yet some things I wish I could speak on. There are some things I honestly want to talk about but I can’t. I am pretty sure there are some of you reading that know what I mean. You know there are some things you don’t think you could ever…
Desquamation
I don’t think in my upwards of 40 surgeries I’ve seen my scars or sutures peel like this. I have put some of my Miracle Oil on it twice a day in hopes it lessens their appearance. The pain is definitely improving from the beginning. I have to wear a boot when I am up and around (which to be honest ain’t much). My boots have airbags 🤣. The turn dial (A) switches the control…
The fine line between autism and honesty
Originally posted 2016-05-30 19:18:54. Autism… A huge broad term with a lot of variations. I have always wondered if it was just Dusty or do others have the same issues with their autistic child? Dusty has gotten to the point where he will lie about the simplest of things. It is odd when you have someone who has the cognitive and developmental impairments like Dusty has, yet can pull the wool over your eyes on another.…
Out of curiosity
Originally posted 2016-04-23 10:26:41. Do you ever see the same number sequences, over and over? I’ve been seeing several different sets of number sequences for a while now and curiosity has got the best of me as to the reason. Maybe it is nothing more than coincidence but what if it has a much higher purpose? In the small amount of research I have done in this I have read some call them “angel numbers”.…
Flashback Friday
Originally posted 2018-03-10 12:22:52. This was in August of 2013 after my son had surgery on his face, jaw, etc… This was my mom and my stepfather walking with him down the hallway at UNC hospital in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. My momma was always, and I stress always lol spoiling him. But I guess that’s what grandmother’s do. I remember my grandmother, my mom’s mom, fussing at my mom because she wouldn’t let me have anymore…
Wouldn’t have missed it for anything, except maybe Pizza
Originally posted 2016-04-13 19:37:12. There are those events in our lives and the lives of our children that we see as huge milestones and you would do almost anything to make sure you did not miss it. Well for us one of those events was Kayla’s boot camp graduation. We are so enormously proud of her and this accomplishment. Seems her stubborn and bullheadedness actually may have helped her. Glad I didn’t tell her she couldn’t…
Time to try a new therapy
Originally posted 2016-03-22 22:35:44. For several weeks now I have been waiting on the insurance approvals for this device to be implanted in Dusty in order to hopefully achieve a reduction of his overall seizure activity. Whether it works or not remains to be seen but all the research and people who have used it show at least some chance of it helping. Just how much it helps is the question. Dusty already takes three…
