Cholesteatoma

Originally posted 2020-04-27 09:03:16. CholesteatomaĀ is aĀ seriousĀ but treatable ear condition that can only be diagnosed by medical examination. Persisting earache, ear drainage, ear pressure, hearing loss, dizziness, or facial muscle weakness signals the need for evaluation by an otolaryngologist. My son, Dusty, had this years ago. I admit hearing he had a tumor in between his brain and his ear was a bit jarring. I mean who wouldn’t react that way to hearing the word, tumor?…

Say what?!

Originally posted 2019-03-15 05:00:10. Would you believe I just got this bill out of no where? This stems from my son’s oral maxillofacial surgery in 2013. All costs were supposed to be covered by insurance and grants from the state. First and last time I received anything regarding a bill was a year after the surgery. Then, today. I am not really sure what to do but we sure as hell can’t afford this. ā€ā™€ļøā€ā™€ļøā€ā™€ļøā€ā™€ļø

Telemed Appointments

Originally posted 2020-04-21 10:50:42. You know this coronavirus quarantine stuff has its ups and downs. Alot of the patients that are in one of the doctor’s offices are children. As we know as children we didn’t think about…

Dusty – “It’s almost the 15th.” Me – “What’s the 15th?” Dusty – “therapy appointment at 11:30” Me – “oh” Dusty – “if I go to bed early and eat burritos for dinner…” Me – “Dusty go eat your cereal” This Kid. ā€ā™€ļø 15 Classes for $15 –…

Recognizing signs of child’s anxiety

Originally posted 2017-08-19 14:39:16. My son has anxiety. It is far more than just a bit of worry that can be soothed away with some reassuring words of encouragement. It plays a big part in his life, and it is important we take it seriously. His worries seemed to grow as he was growing up. But at the time we didnā€™t realize all the different behaviors we saw were driven by his anxiety. And the more…

My heart is breaking

Originally posted 2018-06-15 14:38:27. This will be the hardest thing I have ever done. I have to somehow suppress the expression on my face because Dusty is watching me like a hawk. He knows something is up. This hurts so much. I don’t know how to let go of my mother. I don’t know how to live my life without her. I don’t know how I will ever explain it to Dusty. I pray to…
