Got a call yesterday telling me my iron/ferritin drop even lower from last checkup.
But problem is insurance doesn’t want to pay for it until it’s 5 points lower 🤦♀️
I told the nurse that I have my next surgery scheduled already.
It’s called ankle arthroplasty with Achilles tendon lengthening.
I’m really not sure how “big” of a surgery this is but I do know he said the surgery would take 2 hours.
It’s going to feel hella weird having the mobility back in my ankle.
I lost a shit ton of mobility in ny right ankle when I fell off a porch in 1999.
The nurse said since I’m having that surgery in Aug they’d need to see me sooner than my scheduled appointment. More like a few weeks after surgery.
They would need to check my levels again, see where they are and then she said I’d more than like be low enough for insurance to pay for infusions again.
If my body keeps doing this she said they’d start doing some detective work to see if they can find the cause.
Fingers crossed it just isn’t cancer.
I was said in the beginning that could be a possibility but it depends on how quick my body is losing it.
If it ain’t one thing it’s another.

I’m gonna get her to make Cerenity’s (grandbaby no.1) birthday cake in November. I just gotta narrow down a character idea for it since her likes are all over the place.
This isn’t my ankle but wanted to show what it consists of.
