Scent Selections

This month’s scentbird selection was a little different for me.

Heretic Parfum – Voodoo Lily

Lending poetic license from the mysterious Voodoo Lily, a fleeting flower which blossoms only for a day or two each year, our master perfumer has struck thirteen lucky notes when composing this intoxicating scent. Fall under its powerful love spell with heady florals that are harmoniously layered into a perfectly balanced potion: patchouli for its rich, earthy and woody aroma, rose to provide uplifting, seductive properties, and lily accord for its exotic, creamy, and hypnotic facets. The artful addition of grounding frankincense and meditative sandalwood creates an air of mystery as the scent develops into a dry-down of smoldering incense. Leave the mundane behind and surrender to Voodoo Lily’s dangerous allure. After all, fortune favors the bold.

At first whiff of this one I got a “soap” smell. Not necesarily bad just soapy.

Other selection I liked better.

Versace – Bright Crystal Absolu

Bright Crystal Absolu features vivid top notes of frosted yuzu and pomegranate, that icily reflect the dark, juicy raspberry and peony notes in the heart brightly mirror the bold pomegranate, and fade into a warm, polished base of rich mahogany and taut musk.

What scents have you tried or do you like that I could add to my selections?
