Mirror, mirror what do you see?

Who do you see when you look in the mirror?
Do you see the struggle, the strides, the scars? Or do you see what those of us see that know your obstacles?  The strength you were given to carry the weight of 10 men through the desert. Do you see the fragility of a blooming rose? Do you see the sparkle of the night’s sky lit up by a billion stars? Do you see what we see? I look in the mirror and see me, but I see the things I have become. I see the person who grew out of trauma. The mother who would not give in or give up. I see the woman determined to shine even through my darkest day. I see the mother who lit the way for the lives of her children. I see a girl, once naive to the world, who went out fearing nothing, to find a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Who kept pushing and until the bitter end. Who chose to rise above. Who had every right to be the bitch she had become so familiar with. Who took it all and chose to love again.
So I ask once again, who do you see in the mirror my friend?

I want to know what it is that you see when you look in the mirror. I encourage each and every one of you to look find the glow in your face and not automatically gravitate to the flaws. Those imperfections aren’t a bad thing. Why do you think age is such a bad thing? Could you not see that we were blessed to live another day, week, month, year or even the decade you never thought you’d see behind you? I know not all of you will do this but honestly, I challenge to find the “good IN the bad”  I would absolutely love to have you come back here, comment below and tell me what it was that you found when you looked in the mirror. Forget the scars, forget adult acne, forget wrinkles, crows feet, age spots and tell me, tell yourself what it is that you see. The wrinkles, crows feet or age spots…those could turn into being blessed to still wake up each and everyday that you do. It could be being blessed to live 40 plus years. I know I have definitely been blessed to still wake up each and everyday of my life. It is my birthday and I am now 44 years old.

Forty-Four years old!

I want nothing more for my birthday than to hear from you and want you to know that you’re reflection may not be what you think you see. I’ve had to tell myself the same thing. I just want to share with you the same.
