Today marks my first birthday without my momma. This was hard to do.

I didn’t really want to celebrate it. My daughter said to me “you know she would want me to celebrate it” So I did with some wine.

James was going to get me collard greens and fried flounder but the restaurant was closed by the time he got there. We didn’t realize it closed at 2pm on a Tuesday.

My husband’s friend and former co-worker, his family and church lady’s make plates every other weekend.

Well… I absolutely fell in love with his aunt’s collard greens and fried cornbread patties. I told her I would trade her “green for green” – ๐Ÿคฃ I believe she thought I was joking but I was serious. Dead serious ๐Ÿคจ

I want enough to freeze some in ziploc bags. A big stockpot full would be perfect because I could just unthaw them as I wanted them.

Plus, I really need to eat them more on a regular to help “regulate” my system.

Between my spinal issues, my bowels and bladder and the pain medications…I have become more full of shit than I would like ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ

Nevertheless my husband always tries to somehow make my birthday special.

He drove around looking for collard greens for me and picked me up a simple little cupcake.

We will just have to wait til the lady from the church does them for me.

Another flies by yet I’m still 29 and counting ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰
