Painful evaluation

I finally had the evaluation for physical therapy for my neck today.

I get there and the lady gave me the questionnaire to fill out and it also had the sheet to fill out to show where you hurt. You know “circle where it hurts, draw a line where it hurts.”

Except this was for low back pain 🤦🏼‍♀️.

I had to remind her this was for cervical radiculopathy.

She had to look back in her computer to make sure what I was saying was in fact true. She verified it (or appeared to verify it) and gives me a different form to fill out.

I started filling them out and then the guy called me back.

Well… damn it! I went there with no neck pain and now I’m laying in bed f’n with neck pain! Ughhh….

This dude contradicted with the cranial surgeon.

Then he asks me do I want to be cut on…

I know there are people who believe everything has an alternative method for fixing something.

Maybe he thinks every spinal issue can be fixed with physical therapy. Who knows…

I just know what the surgeon, my pain management doc and my anesthesiologist said.

“The only way to fix this is a fusion”

Now the guy says he is going to state in my chart that it will get better with time. Which I’m sure he words it differently (or at least I hope lol).

So I’m sitting ( trying to get comfortable) in the bed confused as hell because this guy tells me I don’t need the fusion right now..The insurance company will see what he says and I don’t know if they’ll deny the surgery or not.

Granted the surgeon has more years in his career than this guy has probably been alive.

I am left in more pain than I was in when I went there and once again confused and needing to speak with my pain management doc and anesthesiologist who also knows me and my situation. The anesthesiologist os a part of the pain management practice.

My pain management doc is the one who referred me to the cranial surgeon. It’s my understanding the surgeon is also highly sought after in his field.

Maybe it’s due to his time practicing and the amount of surgeries he has performed.

I was also told that the surgeon wouldn’t recommend something he didn’t think someone needed.

I kind of feel like the guy didn’t really look at my background, nerve study, and/or MRI.

Do I want to get cut on 🤦🏼‍♀️… that’s stuck in my head.

I’m going to look listen to my grandbaby act like she’s working instead of her momma 🤣🤣🤣 and try not to think about it…

I need to try amd get some sleep as I have another doctor’s appointment in the morning. 🤞
